Welcome to the PDP Planet Community!

PDPplanet.com offers users something unique—the ability to telnet to a DECsystem-10, an XKL Toad-1 or a VAX-11, log in to a personal account, create or upload programs, and run them. We encourage enthusiasts at all levels of experience, beginners and old hands alike, to apply for accounts on the 2065 (running Tops-10 v7.04) and the Toad-1 (running Tops-20 v7.1) and the VAX-11/780-5 (running OpenVMS 6.5) and to visit the PDP Planet Forums to share ideas and ask questions. Whether your goal is to try out the experience of a prior generation, or to benchmark the accuracy of one of the freely available PDP-10 emulators, or just to enjoy the nostalgia of seeing a familiar prompt on a terminal screen, you are welcome here!

A Note on Resources:
The running Tops-10 system (the 2065) is connected to the Internet by a serial interface whose top speed is only 9600 bits per second. If you need to transfer files onto the system, the latest version of Kermit-10 is available on the system, but we suggest that such transfers be kept to under 10K words (50K bytes).

The 2065 currently has limited space on a single RP06 disk. Requests for disk space over the standard 1000 blocks will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
